How Sestara's AI works, how to read its output, and what it is (and isn't)

How the AI Investment Committee works

When you run research on a ticker, Sestara convenes a committee of AI analysts over the company's deterministic financial facts — the ratios and figures computed in code from SEC filings, never invented by the AI.

  1. Data agents summarize the financials, filings, technicals, and recent news.
  2. Six analyst personas — Value, Growth, Technical, Risk, Macro, and Behavioral — each weigh in with a stance and confidence.
  3. A Chief Investment Officer synthesizes every opinion into one recommendation, with a bull case, bear case, and key risks.

Each persona interprets the same underlying numbers through a different lens, so you see where they agree and where they diverge.

How scores are calculated

The Sestara AI Score (0–100) is fully deterministic — computed in code, not by the AI — so every point is explainable and reproducible. It blends four weighted sub-scores:

Value
30%
P/E, P/S, FCF yield
Growth
25%
Revenue growth
Quality
25%
ROE, margins, FCF
Financial Health
20%
Debt / equity

Each ratio maps through a transparent scoring curve to points. A confidence figure reflects how much real data was available. Explore any ticker's breakdown on the Screener.

How to interpret reports

  • Recommendation — the CIO's synthesized call (Strong Buy → Strong Sell). It's a summary of the committee, not a directive.
  • Confidence — how strongly the committee agreed. Lower confidence means more disagreement or thinner data.
  • Bull & bear cases — read both. The bear case is where the real risk lives.
  • Key risks — specific things that could break the thesis. Weigh them against your own tolerance.
  • Analyst opinions — the diversity of stances tells you how contested the idea is.

Reports you generate are saved to Reports and can be exported to PDF.
